Before your appointment

Full prep + aftercare guide
  • Exfoliate

Exfoliate your whole body, focusing on knees, elbows, ankles and hands. Use an oil-free scrub so nothing sits between your skin and your tan.

  • Shave or wax

Do any hair removal at least 24 hours before. This gives your pores time to close so your tan develops evenly.

  • Arrive with clean, bare skin

Skip lotion, deodorant, perfume and makeup. Clean skin takes color best.

Cocoa Classic questions

What's the difference between the Cocoa Rapid and the Cocoa Classic?

The difference is how long the solution stays on before you rinse. With the Cocoa Rapid you rinse after 1–4 hours, depending on how deep you want your color. With the Cocoa Classic you let it develop for about 8–12 hours. Both keep developing after the rinse and reach their final color by around 24 hours.

When should I shower after my spray tan?

It depends on your tan. Cocoa Rapid: rinse after 1–4 hours. Cocoa Classic: rinse after about 8–12 hours. For your first rinse, use lukewarm water only, no soap, and pat dry gently.

Can I work out or sweat after my tan?

Avoid sweating and water until after your first rinse. Sweat can cause streaks or spots while the tan is developing.

Is the bronzer color my final color?

No. The color you see right after your appointment is a cosmetic bronzer that helps with even application. It rinses away in your first shower. Your real color continues developing underneath and is fully developed by around 24 hours.
